SQL DB creation issues

Hi, new user here. been scanning the forum but cant find the answer to my question. Installing Enterprise and trying to connect to my 2008 R2 SQL box but get the attached error. SCH being the domain name, SULFUR being the SQL Server name. SQL is in Mixed mode so I am using my Windows creds. Any insight or suggestions?

Thx, Tom

You have to use the “sa” user (SQL Authentification, not Windows credentials)

Ok thx. I though Microsoft recommended against enabling the ‘sa’ account??

its been long since i installed but i also believe its dbserver \ instancename and indeed with SA login

yes I confirmed with support that is correct. Not sure why they require the SA login, AD auth should be an option.

My remark was more aimed at the login that you provided in the form of domain / user instead of dbserver / machineaccount

Did you get it to work?

Yes I got it to work by using the SA account for dbserver/instance, domain user does not work.

good to hear you got it working  goodluck, if there is anything else we can help with you know where to find us
