SSL_accept(): sslv3 alert bad certificate

For a number of days now Avast Mail Shield seems to have stopped working.

I have upgraded to 7.0 (39141) with definitions 13072201
(by unintalling the prev 7.0, rebooting, installing anew and again
rebooting

Still, Console shows:

when I turn off the MailShield, it works, but I should not have to do that.

This is in Max OSX 10.6.8

This needs to be fixed

I tried the whole

uninstall
reboot
download
install
reboot

sequence once again, no improvement.

I raised ticket #TVV-649-82190 for this

If you enable HTTPS scanning for the web shield (“Scan secured connections” in the avast web shield preferences), do you
get the same error for every https page? If not, what mailserver are you connecting to?
