SSL/TLS connection detected

I get this message frequently. How can I disable it? It is in regards to my Mac Mail port I am using.
'SSL/TLS connection detected!
avast! Mail shield has detected a secured SSL/TLS
connection that can not be scanned.
Address 17.172.34.94
Port: 993

I am getting the same message over and over and over again, annoying to say the least.
