Hello and thanks for your prompt reply!
I’ve done as you suggested and all seems well.
I’m working on a IBM thinkpad with windows 98SE as my PC is being repaired after being seriously infected!
My first task is to make sure that this doesn’t happen again and so I’m placing my faith in Avast!
I’m starting by kicking out a lot of downloaded stuff like kazaa!!! (which I think has caused some trouble too).
I would like to defragment my disk also but whenever I try to start the operation everything freezes and I have to do a ctrl-alt-sup. I can’t imagine what the problem is? Any ideas?
Also, do you think that I can place total confidence in Avast and remove the other anti-vius software? V-shield, Norton.
Thanks again for your kind attention.
regards
Spats
