Standard Shield - Locations not scanned - Recursive over folders?

I don’t want to disable the standard shield, but I reckon it slows my computer down quite a lot scanning apps I load that I use every day. My question is, on the Standard Shield → Advanced settings I can specify wildcard selections that will not be scanned. If I enter, for example:

c:\Program Files*.*

… does that mean everything in every subfolder will also not be scanned (hooray!) or just the files in c:\Program Files? If the second, is there any way to specify the first (i.e. inclusive of all sub-folders)?

Please, no advice on that being a bad idea! I just quoted ‘c:\Program Files’ because that’s one we probably all have! I would like to be able to achieve the recursive behaviour and will live with the consequences. Thanks!

TIA!

Pete

It will not scan anything which starts with C:\Program Files. I.e. in that folder and any of its subfolders.

BTW it might also be a good idea to add something like C:\Progra~1* as some programs use short names to access files.

Thanks

Many thanks for the swift response, Vlk! I understand what you’re saying - the default behavior is just what I wanted.

P.S. Who’s the funny man behind you in the pic?
