another query from newbie! should i have setting on normal or high? it is difficult to move so now i have it on high, is that ok? thanks again
Hi :
Mine is set on “High”; perhaps Others will come by on the pros and cons of
the “High”, “Normal” and “Custom” Settings !? Or you could use this Forum’s
“Search” feature to see what Others have said !?
The Normal (default) setting provides a good balance between protection and performance. I have had it set there for four years without problem.
Now if you have a relatively fast system (you don’t mention anything about it) you may not see any degradation in performance. So you could simply try it and see. Set on High it will scan every file you open and many of those will be of no or negligible risk of infection.
I use ‘less’ than Normal even… I disable open/create/modified files to be scanned (letting only the executables and scripts to be scanned). Normal is the best balance as David said.
