First time I see this. It goes up to a month ago. I click on WinMail.exe (I’m on Vista with Comodo3 and Defense+ on) and it start and doesn’t open. If ever I can’t connect it to the internet while FF can. Sometimes it’s FF or other programs, but the other programs work. Sometimes I can’t connect to internet, as simple as that. Only remedy is to reboot.
Am I infected? I ran HijackThis, SuperAntispyware and SpywareTerminator and I was clean. Should I cool down with all these beta (FFb4 or 5 AdvanceWindowsCare) that are also acting on the registry (repairing, actually!!!)? I don’t know. I’m puzzled. Sometimes it’s hard to see the light!
I don’t think you’re infected… just that Windows Mail, for any reason, is not opening its own GUI. How much RAM do you have? In next boot, does Windows Mail work?
Yes, I have only IG RAM and Windows Mail behaves normally on reboot. I happen to have these problems only from time to time and I suspect it’s due to ST HIPS on or Defense+ in Comodo Firewalll. Bought a new multifunction printer from Brother and to install it I was forced to :
a. disconnect from internet
b.shut down AVAST
c.shut down Comodo 3 Firewall Pro and Defense+
d.shut down ST
e. shut down threatfire
f.took me 2-3 hours!!!
Just to tell you how powerful these things are!
Interaction between Threatfire and the firewall or the antivirus could, indeed, mess. Worse will be the interaction of Threatfire and Defense+ imho.
