everytime i start my computer i get a splash screen that tells me to click finish to complete the update. No matter how many times i start up and click finish it comes up everytime. Is there a way to stop that spalsh screen since i’ve already clicked finish who knows how many times and i and am showing secured.

Try a repair. Control Panel > Add/Remove > Select avast! > scroll down select Repair.
Reboot your system and see if that cures your problem.
