Starting avast with all providers stopped?

Hi!

What I liked in AVG: You can turn the scanner off, reboot, and the scanner ist still off. (saves time if you have to restart often e.g. when updating drivers)
When I stopp all Providers in avast home, they will automatically restart on reboot. No way to start the avast (see the Icon for fast starting the providers) but with stopped providers?

Why should you disable the antivirus while updating drivers?
Only bad installations ask to do so… I can’t believe!

Sorry Bruno, avast is thought to be running as resident and not only on-demand.

Thanks for your Infos.
I don’t know how fast avast is, but other antiviruses sometime slow down the machine too much, so I turned them off when I had nothing to do with external sources.

Being off-line is not a synonym of security… virus can be downloaded, sit on the computer HDD and being activated later… specially if the user turn of the antivirus…
