Help! Can’t get avast to startup. I have tried “fix program” and “start program” and neither work
have you tried unistall and then re-install ?
Before you try something this drastic. Re-boot, then if that doesn’t work try a repair.
Control panel…add/remove (uninstall Vista and Win7)…double click “avast”…scroll to repair then click…re-boot.

I did not mean to re-install the OS
That’s what the OP wanted to know. I’m not quite sure what he meant by “fix”. That is why I suggested a “repair” The OP also never what other security software he has now or ever had. The more info a person provides the easier it is to provide assistance.
i have done all that before writing here. installed reinstalled and everything i knew i could. It is still the same for me. Anyway i said i do not nee it so lets just finish it . i thought it is something normal .
