So, out of the blue (it seems to me, anyway), my computer stopped booting into Windows (specifically Windows 7 Home Premium x64). It started with “Bootmgr is missing” and after a fair few attempted fixes, including EasyRE and attempted startup fixes with a Windows disc, as well as a Windows recovery disc, I’ve now got to the point where I’m seeing that aswRvrt.sys is corrupt with status 0xc0000098. Whatever that means.
I’m aware that this is probably just avast interacting with some bit of detritus from the many years I’ve had the computer (in which it’s worked fine).
This all led me here because apparently aswRvrt.sys is an avast thing.
Any help will be appreciated.
