Status of Avast! Version 4.5??

It’s been awhile since this question has been asked. Does anyone know the staus of avast! 4.5 ? I know BART CD 2.0 was just released and ADNM is still in testing phase. The Pro/Home versions of avast! antiviirus hasn’t been updated since june of this year. I’m just curious. Any new news on features as well functionality? Thanks for your help in advance.

I believe VLK said they were timing the release of avast! v4.5 around the same time that they release adnm…which…btw… I’ve read shouldn’t be too much longer.

Yes,they will release public BETA very soon. You will see that it was worth waiting

We’re impatient ;D

No Very patient. Anything good is worth waiting for

They could, at least, post a word for it from time to time :‘( :’(
It was promissed to the middle of September :-\

Maybe they learnt from those at microsoft saying when sp2 would be released  think that date changed more times than i can remember

Well, I’m not them, so I can promisse for what I listened: just a week more and we will be testing the Beta 8)

Well thats good news that the BETA will be out next week.

If it does come out as promised…

I created a entry in my agenda that it will be april 1 that 4.5 comes out ;D ;D ;D

Hmm, next year April Fools Day???

Hahahaha … good one, Eddy!

Hi there!

I’m also looking forward… because I’m having problems with that 16-bit environment issue. Had to switch to NOD trial, but will switch back as soon as the new avast! is out for download (Pro of course, as I’m a Pro user).

I think you will only have problems if you install SP2 without SP1 and other hotfixes.
Normal updating sequence (XP > hotfixes and patches or SP1 > hotfixes and patches or SP2 directly > hotfixes and patches) does not appear to suffer any lack of 16-bit protection.

Technical:

Well, yep, I had SP2 express install, so maybe that’s the problem. ;D
But I will instantly switch back as soon as 4.5 is here - Outpost 2.5 is quite nice, so I’m excited about avast! 4.5.

Just to the programmers:

Note, I tried to install in a XP + SP2 streamed system. No success.
I tried to manual add the VDD Registry Keys. No success.
I uninstalled, installed NSW 2004 (except NAV). The VDD are created.
Remove the problem of two groups of zeros in the key (Vlk and Kubecj know what I’m talking about).
Install avast. Works  It’s recognized by the Security Central.

Just wondering what happened to versions 4.2, 4.3 & 4.4, or have I missed something?

Alwil counts in the Czech language ;D ;D ;D

Versions are counted by the amount of code (software instructions) added or changed
