The recently released vr Steamframe uses a high speed usb 3 dongle to stream games from pc to the steamframe. Avast blocks it. Which is good in my mind, it detected and blocked a new unknown attempt at i/o. But I want this particular i/o. So the question is, what files do I need to put into the exceptions list to get the dongle to freely communicate with the frame headset, while still being able to otherwise keep avast running. Perhaps the avast people can ask valve for the details, then just quietly detect the dongle when it fires up and ask the user if they want to put it on their allowed list? I’ve also asked in steam forums if any knows which files I could I add to the exception list, if anyone discovers it there. But its very recently released and people are on waiting lists to even get this thing, so there’s not a ton of attention just yet.
