I tested in both Windows 7 x32 and x64 VMs and still have the same problem like a year ago:
When I run the “ExplorerAsParent” test of CLT an instance of the Internet Explorer gets created outside of the sandbox, the IE window has no red border and the process doesn’t appear in the list of virtualized processes.
