Still can't use Avast. Shuts Down.

I was told to make a new post about my Avast issue here in Viruses.
I cannot get Avast to complete a virus scan.
I was told to download Malwarebytes. It did detect and then put into the Virus Chest or whatever some malware. Since then, all scans clean.

Tried Avast again to night to do that deep scan or whatever it is called after using running Malwarebytes. Hours into it the scan failed at 90% I got a message that the PC had a problem and needed to restart. I was unable to write down the error message thing but it said something like SpacePort.

Is my computer just old, something wrong with the computer hardware or is there something in the computer virus wise?

Also, when scanning with either Malwarebytes or Avast they both have many pauses and seem to just sit for a few seconds to a few minutes and then continue. Malwarebytes does this when scanning the memory.

UPDATE: Was trying to install Java, I was told there was an update, got an error message saying something about Chrome not being compatible. I was using Firefox but since uninstalled it because I think that was what let the Malware into my computer.

It was stalled and so I went to bed and woke up this morning to that black screen that tells you it can’t find a boot up device and wants you to run some sort of set up.

And just as I was typing that line I get a message from the computer saying that there is a new version of Java to be installed so I guess nothing got installed last night.
