Hey, it’s me again. Have a problem that may not be a problem as such, but just would like suggestions for 1.) stopping popups, and/or 2.) fixing the reason for the popups.
Here’s a popup I’m getting frequently (twice as was doing this Prnt Scrn)…
…hmmm, guess I don’t know how to use Insert Image, so see attachment 1…the popup says Realtec blah blah was changed to Private low risk.
In attachment 2, note that Realtec blah blah is already Private.
So,
1.) There’s a change button at the bottom…I’m assuming it’s there to change the auto setting if I desired, as pushing the button gives me a network screen
2.) Is this popup something new, and if the settings for networks are already Private, can I just unclick the button that allows this popup every time Avast makes an auto Firewall setting?
3.) Is Avast doing this on purpose just to punish me for accidentally setting the Firewall to Public a day or two ago?
About the Network popups see this post from Avast Developer Lukas :
To be honnest, it didn’t work out as it should have.
Avast is changing/modifying it, and we are now waiting for a Beta to test it.
About your Network profiles :
It is hard for me as an outsider to make sense of them : I would simply delete them, and reboot the system.
The Avast Firewall will create new Network profiles when needed.
Thanks, Red. I’d do that but Avast seems to be creating new Network profiles every time I log into any given network. I’ll just wait for the change from Avast…it’s only mildly annoying and I guess I could uncheck the button for “show auto changes.”
So it’s not just me that Avast is punishing, eh? Glad to hear that as I was beginning to think I’d become paranoid.
