"Stolen" alarm won't stop going off after update even though I reported it found

My stolen alarm went off without warning. I have it locked to two specific numbers, and neither holder of the other phones knows my password, so it wasn’t a prank.

Immediately after I punched in my code and cancelled the alarm, a second Avast icon appeared in the notification section of my phone, which told me to upgrade. I have automatic updates turned on, and it told me that it had last checked for updates 8 hours ago and I was fully up to date.

The second icon asked for my password and to disable Avast while it installed.

I see from other posts that a language update went out recently, so perhaps the second notification and disabling Avast while it installs is typical.

But why did my alarm go off?

Oh I forgot to mention, my phone rebooted just prior to the alarm going off and the update icon appearing. And I just rebooted it again, and the stolen alarm went off again.

Just to be clear, the phone isn’t stolen. I’m the only one who could have reported it, and I did not.

I texted a message to my phone with my password (XXX FOUND) and received a reply that it was reported found. I rebooted the phone again, and again the stolen alarm came on as soon as Avast booted up. I’m going to uninstall the whole thing if I can’t figure this out. Avast has always been good on my PC.

Which device do you have, which Android version? Sim-card or SIM-less?
