STOP ERROR: 0x00000050 showing ati3duag.dll

Hi All,

I have a new installation of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x86 installed on my old Sony PCG-K37 laptop. The laptop is up to date with all Microsoft updates. Sony released WinXP and Vista drivers for this model but no Win7 drivers. Anyway, as far as I can tell all the hardware appears to work correctly.

My Problem:
I have been getting the, 0x00000050 - PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, Blue-Screen-Of-Death many times during the day. I found the main reason for this was my screen saver, I use the 3-D Text saver. It seems that any time the screen saver kicks in it caused the BSOD. Another problem I found was that any time I try to play a .wma file or watch a DVD I would get the exact same error message.

The Fix:
Turn off ‘Behavior Shield’
With the shield turned off all the above BSOD errors disappear.

I am using the current version of avast anti-virus pro: 7.0.1474. I know my laptop has an older video card that will never support DX9. But, this error is not a video problem as I see it.

I sent support an e-mail with this information but thought I might post it here also, in case anyone else had the same problem, they can let avast know in this thread.

What information do I need to get together and where do I send it? In the hopes of avast fixing this problem.

Thanks for any help,

Charles
