After my most recent Avast Free update, I am now repeatedly getting ‘reminders’ about installing Google Chrome on my workstation.
I really like Avast, but I do not need Chrome.
I am perfectly happy with Firefox and don’t want yet another un-used application installing itself on my workstation.
When the ‘reminders’ come up I repeatedly un-check the boxes and click on the Finish button.
That, in my mind, should be all that is needed to never see the ‘reminder’ again.
But NO.
It seems like every time I power up my workstation I get a new ‘reminder’ about installing Chrome.
Thank you for your reply, but that link does not tell me how to STOP the Chrome reminders.
Instead it says - Go Ahead and Install it and then Un-Install it.
That I figured out by myself, but I just want to KILL the reminders, not go through an installation which will leave all sorts of ‘dead wood’ behind after the Un-Install.
You are missing a crucial piece of information the avast version you have currently, if 7.0.1451 then use the avastUI, Maintenance, Update - Program Update to get the latest version 7.0.1456.
