Randomly, even while actively using the PC, a new window will open called Avast One. When I tab into this new window, it will start running a smart scan… I have scheduled scans set to manual, and no custom scans set. If I let the scan run it always just tells me to upgrade in order to do anything… At this point I no longer ever let the scan run I just hit stop and close the window, but it is still very frustrating. This is clearly just trying to scare people into paying for premium, which is why some of my family have already switched from avast calling it scareware. I may do the same myself soon if this doesn’t stop, especially since now that Avast and AVG got together, false positives pop up quite often… Sometimes I’ll be using a website one day then the next day that website is blocked, then it’s maybe unblocked again some time later… A bit off-topic I know but I feel it’s worth mentioning. I switched from AVG years back because of these types of false positives… Now I feel like I’m using AVG again.
