Do you know application that steals the focus from what I’m working is an annoying one? Stop this feature especially the software updater. I can look after it myself. Thanks.
If you feel that you don’t need the software updater then you can remove it.
Control Panel > Programs & Features > avast antivirus > Change - from the next screen select Modify > uncheck the Software Updater option.
I need software updater. I’m using it. If I don’t need/use it I won’t get my focus stolen in the first place 
I just don’t want it to pop up WHILE I am waiting for an update by doing something else.
Since it requires interactive input to do the update it has to seek it by pop-up. As on the free version of avast it updates manually, I believe in the paid versions you can have it do the updates automatically. But that may not be acceptable to all if it does the update automatically if you are busy.
I somewhat confused as in your first post you said.
So I thought you didn’t want it.
