I have PAID for 12 different licenses and love Avast! But I swear to god if I see ONE MORE pop up saying “We found something wrong with your computer, you should pay for and download this OTHER product we have” I will cancel my subscriptions, ALL 12 of of them, and go to another product… I can understand you giving this popup for the free users, but I PAY for it - and I pay so I don’t have to deal with that exact kind of bullshit so PLEASE do whatever it takes to remove it or I will simply remove you.
Exactly … I PAID ALREADY!! Go spam your free users!! Im regretting my latest purchase! This and the “Safe price” feature is an embarrassment!! Its sleazy to have that included in a paid product!!
Easy solution… go to Programs and Features and select Avast!. Click on Uninstall/Change and select Change from that dialogue. Deselect Grimefighter and Safe Price then continue, following the prompts to restart your computer when the changes are made. Voila! No more “ads”.

Amen to the other posts on this subject. Thank you for the post suggesting how to turn off the ads. I am compelled to be here because I believe Avast is getting obnoxious. I run a monitor program watching for activity on my Windows 7 startup folder among other things and it is notifying me that Avast is placing a new item in it on the average of once a day. I can’t imaging what it’s doing, but I don’t like it and this is something that is relatively new. In a 1 hour browsing session today, I received the same popup message from Avast offering to speed up my PC 3 or 4 times. Avast is making me regret purchasing a 3 year, 3 PC license. I used to like it because I believed it was silently protecting my PC in the background without a big performance hit. Now, I’m not so sure that’s the case. It spends an inordinate amount of time scanning a file I’m using to install a program while I’m waiting for it. This is something I’ve had residing on my hard drive for years.
