STOP THE POP-UPS!!!

I am getting pop-ups multiple times a day from Avast, mostly about taking a survey about mobile apps. I DON’T HAVE A SMART PHONE AND DO NOT USE “MOBILE APPS”!!! I HAVE TOLD YOU I DON’T HAVE A SMART PHONE AND DO NOT USE APPS. STOP IT!! STOP IT!!! If you don’t, I will uninstall Avast and use AVG, Panda, Bit Defender, or some other AV.

What’s the matter with you people. Once somebody says ‘No’ to a survey request, why do you keep pestering them???

It’s an advertisement. Get over it. You’re using a free product and they are going to advertise to generate revenue. If out of 24 hours in a day you get a couple of pop ups that take under a minute and are not hindering you from working on your computer then just ignore it and move on

You can disable the pop-ups in the paid versions.

As they say, you get what you have paid for.

No they are annoying and disrespectful. After hooking up enough people (user database) showing these ads down our throats is not Okay.

Also there is this situation with the elderly people, they usually don’t understand and tricked by Avast into buying something that they didn’t want or need to but at the first place.

I hope someday they will realise this is a bad move.

Set to silent gaming mode

Thank you essexboy, I did that for a while. Then I couldn’t be sure if I will still get a notification if something really important (like a virus in the memorystick or in some file) event occurs or not.

Do you have any idea?

Virus alerts ignore that setting

What you are seeing is what should say “virus data base update”.
I only see one maybe two a day, how many are you getting?

Well at just over 1.2 cents per day, buying a paid version will resolve this issue!!

Thanks essexboy.

Eh, no.
The “virus database pop-ups” have been removed

Whilst that is correct if the user has Hardened Mode (and probable set to Aggressive) then you don’t get the interactive window appear. You just know it because when trying to run a program, nothing happens, only when you twig that this could be the Hardened Mode in action.

Temporarily stop the silent/gaming mode and you see the Hardened Mode interactive window appear when you try to launch the program.
