yes but i want to turn it off all together not just set it to a set time frame since my time spent on my pc is erratic i cant just have it set to a set time. a couple of times now ive gone to the toilet to find my pc has restarted itself because of an update by the time i got back closing all applications and my browser down in the process.
Eddy my issue is with windows 10 anniversary edition auto restarting. Nothing to do with avast or anyother update.
Im ok with updates downloading and installing by themselves its the restarting on its own i dont like also avast updates arnt the issue as that promts to restart and not force restarts when you dont expect it to.
Its not like im gonna leave the update waiting to restart for days. i just want to be able to save stuff and close applications down before i restart on my own terms, not when i goto the toilet or to go make food to eat then come back to find its restarted itself.
Also the active hours thing tells me “active hours can be set between 1 and 12 hours” so does that mean i cant set more than 12 hours of active time?
It feels like microsoft is taking away more and more freedom of control with every new version of windows i hate it.
It was the need expressed in this thread that prompted me to create the video.
The link posted by Lotan that helped with some of the information contained in the video.
Im glad i could be of help i guess. BTW that solution only works on windows 10 pro, other editions need to go through regedit which the link also explains.
looks like turning off the automatic restarts option from the link didnt stop my windows from automatic restarting after windows updates as my pc just auto restarted after doing updates.
