Just a few minutes ago while i was starting a SFC scan on a machine (still doing it) i made the mistake of stopping Network shield instead of Pausing it.
How can i recover this function,please?
When you stop one of the providers, you should get a warning box asking if you want to “Persist The Changes?” with Yes and No buttons. Which button did you click?
I clicked the Stop Provider option and then the Network Shield one from the tray and menu.
I was hoping to receive a warning or else at next reboot,but i realise it is final…
I’ll have to reinstall the providers and the entire program, i guess, from the downloaded Avast file and then checking all the providers again…
unless someone has a cute shortcut to this…

I found the solution when i opened the On Access Protection Control and saw the Network Shield greyed out and the option to restart it…which i did. Solved.
Well, this is why I was asking the above question. If you click No for the “Persist The Change” question, then you have the option to restart the provider at any time in just the way that you have without having to re-install.
