Stopping scan when virus etc detected

Installed the 4.8 version of the Home edition to try it out.
Wondering if there is a setting I can set to have Avast scan unattended and give all the results at the end instead of it stopping to require you to make decisions each time it finds something.

I think thats impossible. But eh, I might be wrong. ;D I think that feauture is going to be added in 5.0 if its not already on there.

This is a feature only available in the pro version.
There are posted workarounds on this forum, my preferred workaround is to download a .com file from eicar.org (which is a virus simulator, designed to test that the detection/on access scanner of any AV is working correctly. You’d need to pause the webshield to download it.)
Then you place the file in the C:\ drive, at one of the first areas scanned. In my case C:\Ati\support seems to be one of the first folders to be scanned- it may be different for you. Hint: start a manual scan, stop it, repeat a couple of times, and each time the scan starts, not the first folder to be scanned in the scanning window.
This way, a detection occurs within a few seconds of scanning your HD, and you click on “continue”, and tick “don’t show this dialogue next time”, and go to bed or whatever, ready to look at the scan results in an hour or two. Or 8.

Ahh! Very good idea! I’ll give it a try! Thanks.
Now I might be able to get some beauty sleep
