Hi I also have this problem and I reinstalled my avast with this uninstall from page… and it still doesnt work… i even cant get to it as there is unknown error and avst goes down…
I also checked my system with online scanner but it found nothing
Both of you try this:
1] Disable system restore. url=http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;283073
2] Reboot
3] Uninstall Avast using THIS util
4] Reboot
5] Login as administrator url=http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/admins.htm
6] Install Avast
While doing this, keep an eye open for ANY strange thing. Let us know what happens.
Bob, My Computer sometimes is not on the user’s desktop, especaially after clean installation of newer versions of Windows. In that case, he just have to:
1.) right click the desktop
2.) go to PROPERTIES
3.) Choose DESKTOP tab
4.) click on CUSTOMIZE DESKTOP button (bottom of the window)…
5.) on the upper part of the window, he will find DESKTOP ICONS section
Just put checkmarks on those that you wanna see on your desktop… that’s all.
Cheers !
Issue yet unresolved for a reminder, although I think we explored all possible directions. It really is un-explainable… ???
Please explain what is unresolved?
How did your post wind up in this Thread? What was your problem? Maybe you should post it in the proper place?
