Strange Behaviors

My computer is running tons of CPU’s and has audio while I have no programs running. For the last few days, avast has been alarming but when I run a scan it detects nothing. Today it is not alarming at all. My pages are loading very slowly and I dont know where these sounds are coming from. I hear commercials, baseball games, and news reports all at the same time. I don’t know what to do.

Please attach your logs.

Sorry but I closed the prgram before generating the report :frowning: However, my machine seems to be running great now. I believe you have cured me doc ;D

Did TDSSkiller find an infection ?

Yes, there were 4 threats and one infection

Could you re-run TDSSkillerplease with the same parameters and attach the log… There may be residue

There is no way for me to attach the log. I can neither save nor copy/paste the kaspersky document

Did you click at the top under reports ?

Yes!

These things are sent to try me sometimes ;D

Any how is the system behaving ?

Excuse the butting in mid cleaning:
Please ‘modify’ your Reply #4 post change the URL from http to hXXp, as in the above quoted text to break the link and avoid accidental exposure to suspect sites, thanks.

System is running great! Only downside is that I paid two computer “experts” to fix my machine before I posted this. I am sorry I can’t attach those logs for you. The right-click function does nothing and there is no option to save. The second scan revealed 4 suspicious items but no infections. I assume that is good.

Yep 'tis good. If all is well tomorrow let me know and I will remove my tools ;D

All continues to be well on this end. Thank you so very much for all of your help. I am completely baffled by what you can accomplish without having remote access… but I am certainly not complaining.

Totally blown away. Thanks again.

and again.

OK lets clear my rubbish and then investigate the right click problem if you wish… When you right click a file do you get the copy option on the menu ? Screenshot at the end

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Remove ComboFix

[*]Hold down the Windows key + R on your keyboard. This will display the Run dialogue box
[*]In the Run box, type in ComboFix /Uninstall (Notice the space between the “x” and “/”) then click OK

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee362/Essexboy3/Misc%20screen%20shots/CF_Uninstall-1.jpg

[]Follow the prompts on the screen
[
]A message should appear confirming that ComboFix was uninstalled

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

[*]Select folder options (Appearance > Folder options in category view)
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[
]Click OK.
