Since the most recent program update ,I have experienced numerous issues (see my topics and posts). After trying an Avast repair from the Control Panel that failed, I did a complete uninstall. I followed the directions as instructed and did a complete reinstall. I let my system rest for a few days.
Logged on Friday only to receive a Windows security center message to update Avast (?). When I attempted to update I received this: error code 0x40000015 occurred at location 0x71a327c.
Anyone have a clue? Now I am unable to do anything with Avast program
Thanks in advance.
What OS/SP?
What exact version of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed (or did you have) ?
When doing the uninstall, did you use the uninstall tool ?
All of your questions Eddy I believe are answered in my post and my signature except one. No, I have no other security software installed that isn’t listed in my signature. Thanks for your quick response.
I suggest a clean installation of the latest version and see if it solves the problem.

I completely understand Eddy. But, whatever is wrong (the error code I gave you) keeps me from even uninstalling Avast. I am totally unable to open Avast from anywhere on my system.
I am happy to see Avast did some fixes… but my issue is major. I am exploring the idea of doing a system recovery. Any advice anyone?
Thanks for responding.
