Strange file found in my Quick Launch

While browsing through my Quick Launch I noticed a strange file. I googled it and got conflicting answers. One file said it was a virus. Another said it was a virus but would do no harm. Another sang its praises. So, is it, or is it not a virus: RevoUninProSetup22222.exe ??

My computer is custom made. I am using XP pro.

upload the file to www.virustotal.com and test it with 43 malware scanners. when you have the result, copy the URL in the address bar and post it here

Thank you for the information.

I did as you said and sent the file to www.virustotal.com Their findings are “this sample is goodware”. It is strange, however, that the only place I find it in my computer is in Quick Launch and the Control Panel. Which, I guess, that means I could safely delete it, couldn’t I?

My pc is custom built MSI and using MS Win XP Pro. AMD Athlon™ 7750 Dual Core Processor, MMX 3 D NOW (2 CPU’s) ~ 2.7GHz with a total of 725 Gigs of free memory.
