I have been getting wierd yahoo based e-mails from random names and numbers, the contents of the e-mail is numbers, letters and question marks has anyone had something similar and how can I prevent this spam?

[i]Assuming that you’re referring to downloading email using some email client, the only thing I can suggest is to get a good Spam Blocker that ‘plays nice’ with Avast!..
The only place I’ve seen these is in web-based email…
Maybe one of the other Avast Guru’s can point you in the right direction… :)[/i]
Gmail is doing a good work filtering spam.
Microsoft Outlook has a native spam filter also (works sometimes ;D).
Spamihilator is a very good antispam tool, free, highly configurable (www.spamihilator.com).
Yahoo also has built in spam filtering.
On these strange emails, see if you can block the domain used to send these spam emails since the user always changes.
I actually get less spam on my yahoo email than any of the others.

I heard spam was bad but never really got any but now its like an explosion of it in such a short space of time
