now everytime i restart my ’ mydocuments folder appears open, my Spyware terminator program is blocking something from dowloading… my hijack this log is too long to post here, i tried splitting it up into three parts on the viruses board… found win32Rootkit again

i sent that to chest through avast during a boot scan but it still comes back…
maybe if i run my antispyware stuff in safe mode again… or maybe itis hiding in my registry

I suggest:

  1. Clean your temporary files.
  2. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
  3. Use SUPERantispyware, MBAM or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete them.
  4. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest avast! antirootkit or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
  5. Make a HijackThis log to post here or this analysis site. Or even submit the RunScanner log to to on-line analysis.
  6. Disable System Restore and then reenable it again.
  7. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster.
  8. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.

From ST forums I see users are having a lot of problems with ST 2.5. ST 2.3 is better, but it doesn’t auto update, manually only.

With avast! an a/s isn’t needed. If you feel the need for an a/s, Windows Defender is a better choice (for free) until things get straitened out with ST.
