I have been checking out sites that offer software to watch TV through the PC. Are they all scams? Has anyone tried them? The ones hyped the most seem to be Stream Direct and Satellite TV for PC, and of course you have to buy their software in order to use them.

Do you want to watch live TV or (pre-)recorded broadcasts…??

Both
I use Hulu, the broadcast stations websites also HBOGo for now.

Try anytv, over 2600 channels for the free version http://www.anytvplayer.com/

  1. Ok, you need a receiver for live TV. (In Europe they are rather cheap, around 10€)
  2. I would have suggested Hulu to you, but as you already know about it…

I will check out anytv craig
I want to use my PC not a TV receiver and my HDMI cable. I am still curious about these pay services.

You wont need any reciever or antenna with any tv, its all live streaming, you only have to give it access through your firewall.
I tried it last week and it seemed ok, its only a 1.5 meg download which is nice as well.

roro…don’t do the satellite to pc thing…its a scam and not worth the money
here are a few free sites i have used and you don’t have to pay or download nothing!!!
