Easy… The infraestruture is being corrected and increased.
Everyone is working on it
While this, the normal updates are protecting you (as in version 6).
Ok, but how about “Connection Not Established”? Does this have to do with the infrastructure as well? Or do you have any other suggestion?

Yes, it’s related.
Same issue here, not connected (Conexion no establecida in spanish) and no “_stream” subfolder only 12022400 and 12022401 in “defs” 71,1MB each one.
Virus definition updates set to “Auto”
My O.S. is XP SP3, avast! v7.0.1407 free edition updated from v6 via program update
At this time, I still have CONNECTION NOT ESTABLISHED. It is still down. can other chime in with their status?
make sure avast isn’t blocked by firewall (comodo like / router).
For me it’s not. As my earlier posts said, after I did clean install it was working for a while, then just stopped. I only use the built-in XP SP3 firewall. All other internet stuff works fine as does the regular virus updates.
On the UPDATE page in the AVAST UI where the streaming status is, it says “Streaming Updates: ENABLED” but under Connection “Connection: Connection not established”. Is this correct for the connection status–will streaming updates work?
I have the same problem, just the same
me too, as in the morning give this updated version 120227-0 http://www.avast.com/virus-update-history and begin problem with connection not establishment
Actually I have this problem too in all my installations (7 computers in 7 different places).
So I thought that it was normal to have it enable and never have logged any update information by the stream…

Well the connection is established for me right now and there has been a recent streaming update (image1,2&3).
Whilst the backend servers might be intermittent, the streaming updates are over and above the normal virus definitions, and should be included in the next virus definitions and I believe at that point the old stream sub-folder would be removed, so you may not see it.
