streaming updates / automatic updates

the last update is 20141009 18:20:32

unfortunately this didn’t arrive on my computer.

any suggestion why?

both update possibilities are set ON.

Hy rvb,

perhaps it is a server-“problem” or it will arrive after the next restart of your computer.
Don’t worry about it.

I’m sure it will come…

PS: Welcome to the forum(s)!

my screen is different from this http://blog.avast.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/programupgrade_progress.png

unfortunately i’m missing the line :

last update attempt

why was this line removed???

it would supply valuable information.

Have you tried the manual definitions update from the avastUI ?

If so what was the response, if an error, please state what it was ?

You are only -1 update short, 141009-1, but you didn’t give the full version -0 would have been the first of the day 141009-1 is the second of the day.

Even if you aren’t receiving the definitions, the streaming updates should still come through (provided you have the virus definition updates set to Auto). Take a look in the avast defs folder and you should be able to see if you are receiving streaming updates.

I have the latest VPS 141009-1 and there have been no streaming updates since its release.

i installed avast yesterday morning. i received no updates yesterday, did it manually and noticed i missed them all.

same story today.

tomorrow at this time i’ll check again.

If you did a manual update you should have either got an update or an error, which is why I asked:
If so what was the response, if an error, please state what it was ?

It could also have said that you are up to date, which indicates a different condition - one which could be resolved by an avast Repair.

Having just installed avast, ensure that your firewall (which is ?) allows instup.exe internet access, this is the process that handles the updates.

i changed the language from dutch to english.

avast then did, in my opinion, a complete re-install.

believe it or not, the streaming updates are functioning.

@rvb: Why are you using a very old aged outdated version of avast!?

I think that you are reading something that isn’t there - nowhere has rvb stated what avast version he is using.

If you are looking at the image link that was posted this is from the avast blog and is an old image on the blog - as rvb stated “my screen is different from this.”
