Streaming Updates

Hi,
It looks like I stopped receiving streaming updates about an hour or so ago (around 12:30pm EST). Everything else is up to date…should I just wait this out (like last weekend), or do I need a reinstall?

It looks like I’m having the same issue, no connection to cloud :o
Let’s wait until situation gets stable.

Yup. Same thing here. Again. “Connection not established” since I powered up the computers three hours ago. VPS is nine hours old. On the upside, at least I made it though Saturday!

Thanks for the reply. Everything else looks normal - I’m not seeing any error messages.

After last weekend, I think I’m just being overly vigilant about the streaming updates - I never paid much attention to them before. I’ll carry on and let it sort itself out. :slight_smile:

Again, for me, r-054-043-234-077.ff.avast.com is the streaming server that is not working.

You should be overly vigilant. According to Avast’s CTO, “Both streaming updates and the cloud features are absolutely vital for the product - without them, the level of protection drops significantly.” That’s copied directly from his post on another online forum.

If you’re using any one of the paid products, you should also be overly upset.

You won’t see any error messages. If you mouse hover on the tray icon you’ll see “Your system is secured.” And in the UI there’ll be the green button with the happy-face and “Everything up-to-date.”

Carry on and let it sort itself out is all anyone can do.

Same here in czech republic, connection not established since three hours ago. I guess I am too overly vigilant since it started losing connection last weekend. But at least I am not alone.

It says Connection Established but it has been over 3 1/2 hours since I have got a streaming update.

Connection is established and I’m receiving Streaming Updates.

Here nothing yet, since 4-5 hours ago

Same old same old. Another weekend another streaming updates down.

Every weekend same story.
No Streaming Updates in the last 4 hours (Croatia).

I’ve had a few brief connection spurts (each lasting about 5-7 minutes), but so far nothing has updated since 12:30 pm U.S. EST.

Are the usual signature updates being delivered.?
If so i would not worry as most other antivirus software do not even have streaming updates.

Streaming updates are back up now.

Connection OK and streaming OK. Downtime not nearly as bad as the last two weekends, only about 6 hours vs 30-40. Seems like Avast is getting a handle on things. Good work.
