Stuck at aswRvrt.sys when trying to boot in safe mode.

It may be a problem with the reserved partition being on the wrong disc… Could you disconnect the hard drive and then run a system repair from the CD with just the SSD connected

I have three hadr drives on the computer. 2 ssds and 1 hdd. Windows is on the SSD. Do you want me to disconnect all the hard drives and then reconnect the main harddrive with windows on it and then run a system repair? Or do you want me to disconnect all the hard drives and run a system repair from a boot disk with only connecting the C drive?

Thanks for your help.

Leave the SSD with windows on connected and disconnect the others then run the repair

Ok, I just ran repair with the other drives disconnected and it started in 30 secs instead of 2 hours!!

anddd I just restarted it and it logged onto windows!

So it is probably the other hard drives? What should I do now to find out what the problem was?

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I am attaching a txt file from the “windows recovered from an unexpected problem” popup that appeared when I logged onto windows.

 I am glad about that, you should now be able to connect the other drives safely

Could you possibly upload the following dump file to a file sharing site so that I can have a look at it. C:\Windows\Minidump\021214-13228-01.dmp

Also Avast is now damaged so a repair will be required

I just uninstalled avast and am redownloading it as I type. Is that ok?

Can I just attach the minidump files on here like a regular txt file?

You can try to attach it but rename to .txt and it cannot be larger that 200k I am afraid

Yes the uninstall then install should be OK

Ahh ok, yeah they are over 200k. Ok I will post a link up here soon.

Ok reinstalling avast now.

This is purely for my own interest to see where the failure occurred and then determine if there was a quicker fix… Just in case I come across this again

The second file is the most current dmp file. There were two of them in minidump folder, so for completion I am linking you to both.

Man no problem, if there’s anything else I can do from my side to help you I will gladly do it. This is my 6 month old gaming computer that I built so I was devastated when all this happened, you are a life saver!

Gonna restart and hook up the other drives now and see if all is well. Then reinstalling avast.

I would recommend installing Avast prior to replacing the other drives to ensure that it goes on the correct drive. It should do but better safe than sorry

Ok will do.

Do you know what exactly caused the problem? Something I could do in the future to prevent this?

So I shutdown the computer, reconnected the hard drives and booted up and got stuck in the windows screen again. I disconnected the HDD (which is the oldest drive) and booted up again and same problems. I disconnected the other SSD and booted up again and it started up perfectly. Do you know what’s going on? Maybe it is the boot order?

On the other SSD is there any important data ? As there is a possibility that the second SSD also has a reserved partition and that is causing confusion. The reserved partition dictates the master drive (Boot drive)

No I don’t have important data on there, it’s a drive just for games. But I would like to keep them cause my internet is pretty slow and downloaded those games to forever lol. But if nothing can be done I know I will probably have to format and that’s ok.

Just another tidbit of info: When I connect the other SSD while the comp is on, under device manager in disk drives when I connect the SSD, the SSD doesn’t show up as “samsung bla bla bla” it only shows up as “disk drive”. When I disconnect the SSD it goes away, so the comp is recognizing it somewhat. When I reboot and go into bios, it doesn’t show up there.

Thanks again.

Does the motherboard have the ability to run 2 SSD’s

I don’t know for sure (I didn’t even know this was a concern) but it has been running them fine for about 3 months.

This is the mobo I have.

thanks.

Could you copy the games from the second SSD to the hardrive, reformat the SSD and then copy them back ? Or are they actually installed on that drive

I don’t think so since I can’t access the SSD…is there some way that I could?

And even if I could, I don’t think I can do that since they are installed and I don’t think they would just copy over to the other hard drive. Also, I have about 36 gigs left on my primary drive cause windows and battlefield 4 lol.
