Stunnel error - XP user swtching

I’m using stunnel for gmail and have recently started getting the error message below when switching between user accounts. Staying logged on to one xp account and switching to another one. No problem if I log off before switching.

Any stunnel experts able to point me in the right direction to fix it?

Thanks
Ian

Looks to me you posted in the wrong forum. I can’t see any relation to your problem and Avast.

Eddy

Probably right but as the nice people of the avast forum told me how to get gmail, avast and thunderbird working I was hoping there was a resident stunnel expert that could help.

Ian

No, I ment that questions like this should be in the Off-Topic or Generic forum here on this board.

Ahhh! Sorry, assumed otherwise.

Anyway, I’ve got a solution from reading other stunnel posts and using my nouse.

I now have a separate stunnel running per xp account. Each stunnel uses different ports for gmail, ie one uses 11111 for pop.gmail.com, t’other uses 11112. Same appoach for smtp.

No more stunnel server down.

Ian

PS Rather pleased with myself for figuring it out ;D

Iangh, that’s my turn to ask you for help.
How are you using a separate stunnel running application into xp…
Different users running different settings for stunnel? I suppose there will be two stunnel.conf (different folders probably).

Do you know how to ‘hide’ the stunnel icon on system tray and have it running in backgroud?
Thanks.

Tech

To each xp account programs folder I copied the stunnel folder containing stunnel and config file.

Copied the shortcut to each users’ start folder.

Ensure the config files have different ports. Use the appropriate ports in config file, account settings for each user, and add new ports to avast redirect.

For hiding icons see this

Ian

Ok, it was like I’ve imagined…

Well, this does not solve the ‘non-icon’ interface…

Tech

Agreed, it does not move it from the tray it merely hides it so that you have to click’<<’ to see it. That’s fine by me as I like to check the log.

Ian

Thanks for the efforts Ian. I need more :-
Well, Stunnel is such a great project that this very small feature won’t make me even think on giving it up
