Submit virus/phishing links option

Could we have an additional option to submit just virus/phishing links in the viruschest in future builds of avast without the need of submitting a file?

Phishing links obviously don’t have files to download so does exploit links.

Just a thought.

I guess you can put the link(s) in a notepad and send to virus @ avast.com

Didn’t think about that. lol

But if I submit a notepad file, will the virus analyst open it and look? I know avast have automatic system to analyse malwares but will those automatic system open and analyse my links? As they see my file is a notepad file, most likely the system will just discard it.

Isn’t that feature already available in: Additional Protection → Site blocking → Check “Enable site blocking” → enter the links ?

That only works for the local user. Lunar wants an easy way to submit it so it gets blacklisted for everyone.

not sure about that…you may need to use mail subject: Malware URLs

the majority of samples they collect is not comming in mail from avast users, but from automatic systems
so i guess that the mail account is checked manually… ???

Currently the on-line contact form, http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles doesn’t cater for reporting Undetected malicious/phishing sites only reporting FPs on sites.

Since avast doesn’t specifically have phishing sites on the VPS only malicious/infected sites, there isn’t a specific way to report them for inclusion in the VPS for Network Shield.

Reporting a phishing/malicious site not detected by the Network Shield:
Essentially it is sending an email to virus (at) avast (dot) com (no attachment as there is no physical file) outlining the issue and giving the URL in the body of the email.

The email Subject is probably more crucial as I would say it still has to be called ‘Undetected Malware’ for it to be filtered within the receipt system for action. I would go further and include ‘Network Shield’ in the subject to further define the problem and possibly attract attention. So the subject would be something like “Undetected Malware - Network Shield - Phishing/Malicious site” (whichever is applicable), without the Quotes.
