Submitting Malware Samples

Avast needs to have a direct upload on there site for new/undetected malware samples. I use Sandboxie to collect new/undetected malware that Avast (and others) miss and would like to be able to upload them without have to Zip the files. As far as I know, there is no way to password a Zip file inside Sandboxie and attach it to an email. I have also heard Avast will not accept emails from gmail and yahoo where sending malware is concerned. I am not sure if that is true. Uploading feature would be a big help. I would rather not download samples outside Sandboxie then go through the zip, attach, email process. Gmail and yahoo may not accept the attachment for mailing (internal scanning). Just a thought.

There is a means of uploading, via the chest:
You can also add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest (if it isn’t already in the chest) where it can do no harm and send it from there. A copy of the file/s will remain in the original location, so you will need to take further action and can remove/rename that.

Send it from the User Files section of the chest (select the file, right click, email to Alwil Software). It will be uploaded (not actually emailed) to avast when the next avast auto (or manual) update is done.

avast will accept emails from wherever you choose to send them from, it is gmail that doesn’t let you send certain attachments and even zipped it sees the .exe inside, so can block on file type. I don’t know about Yahoos policy on email attachments.
