you could send the file to avast! labs from here: www.avast.com/contacts
Also try a repair of avast via control panel and see if that fixes it.
Am i suppose to receive a form to fill out and attach the file to submit?no attach.....but there should pop up a form to fill out.. then the sample will be sendt at next update, or at once if you do a manual update
is that a prog update or virus def update? And is it okay to submit a file i think is a fp to the virus lab ?
If the detected file is in the virus chest, you can send it to Avast! by right clicking it and choose " Submit to virus lab…". A pop up form will pop up. add as much info as posible. See screenshot. The next time Avast! updates a VPS the file will be sent, or you can choose to do a manual update for virus definitions through Avast! UI to send the file right away.
You can also choose to Zip the file encript it with a password ( usually “virus” ) add any info in not pad and send it to virus@avast.com
yes it is okay…and the upload happens when the program connect to avast server to check for updates
So since im not getting any type of response or form after seldcting “send to virus lab” i guess i will need to “repair” the avast program which i really dont want to restore everything back to defaults . Will i receive a response back from avast if the file was a FP? So that way i can stop worrying if my system is infected and not have to pay for additional removal support…
Avast! repair retains all your settings so no worries there. Remember to reboot afterwards.
Usually you don’t. If it is a F/P, it will be fixed with a new VPS. You may scan the file in the virus chest until Avast! does not detect it any longer.
You don’t have to pay for cleaning your system. Here at Avast! forum you have expert help by specialist trained to remove malware, and it is free

I do not know. never seen it here, but then again I may have missed it.
Really. It is not a big deal. If you know how to install a program, the rest is easy. The especialist here will take you step by step with screenshots and all to make it easy to understand. The boring part is to wait for the scans to finnish and even then they are relatively quick.
Give it a try. You may learn a thing or two about computers.
