Subscription information not accepted

I’m getting this fail message when I enter my Activation code:

“The request can not be processed at the moment please try later. (-2147195904)”

So I can not activate the virus protection.

I also tried downloading a licence file (taken from my Account page) - That generates a different error:

“Unable to insert the licence file. The signature in invalid. The licence file is corrupted or modified”

And finally - I Panicked and purchased a free extension so I could try another code. THis doesn’t work either and I get an error message when I try to cancel its auto renewal.

seriously… please help… I’m going mad here.

Do as it say > please try later.

I tried yesterday, and got the same so this is 24hrs later.

I see multiple people reporting it.
Seems there is a problem on the avast servers.

If you like, you can contact avast > https://support.avast.com

Yeah I did that thanks. Can I come back here if I don’t get anywhere?

Sure, but as the problem seems to be at avast there is nothing we can do for you here.

I am getting the exact same errors on my renewal for AIS. Very frustrating. I opened a ticket.

Well the response from the Avast ticket wasn’t helpful at all. They basically didn’t read what I wrote and just told me to download the software and install it. I don’t think they read that I was already an Avast customer either. I’m wondering if the fact that Avast was already installed on my system conflicts with the new install? Is there something that needs to be cleared out first? Should I not have installed the SW again?

Here is what I tried and the results:

The installer runs but does not ask the questions in the instructions for the activation code. It just finishes and disappears. When I open Avast I see the screen that says YOU ARE UNPROTECTED. Trying to Start the serve or Resolve All does nothing. When I go to Subscription and try to enter the activation code, at the end I get an error and it doesn’t save any of the entered data. When I try to load the license file it says that its corrupted.

Nothing is working!

Reported to Avast. Let’s see if that helps.

Ok, I was able to get some advice from Cody at Antivirussales.com It looks like the fix was to download and run avastclear to remove everything from my previous install . I then started with a clean download and install. The activation code didn’t take initially during the install process, and put me in Trial mode. However, when I went into the Subscription section I was able to load the activation code successfully. Simple fix overall, but what a royal PITA.
