Sugestion to improve the response time to add new malware signatures

Hello guys!

I was wondering, I did read a lot about the response time problem of Avast to add new malwares signatures. For what I could understand, its seems that the virus analists receives a lot of garbage, and they have to filter it to get the malware samples that they should add to database…

So here my idea: I Believe that here in this forum, should have a lot of another Avast fans that collect new malware samples, study it or just have an easy access to the new malware samples.
Alwill could select some people that meet this condition, would like to help, and have proven to know if a file is a really malware (and not a garbage) and give a “special” email address, or a “special” ftp adress that only theses selected people would know, so they can submit the sampels to Alwill…

This way, in my head, would make a reliable place where the avast analists could get the malware samples with none or at least very few garbage samples, making new virus signature a lot faster…
So, they can give priority to the samples in this “special” place, and after they finish with it, they could filter garbage in other places to get some more samples…

When a new malwares gets in this special place, they give priority to it…

Is it possible to do??

By the way, Did I made my self clear? Or its hard to understand my idea? I can try to explain it in another way…

Anyway, thanks for reading this!

Good idea!

Personally I can every day submit undetected unknown but real viruses( not garbage) to Alwil ! and I will do this with pleasure , if these files will detected by Avast! next 2-3 days. But today I hate do this, because when I send real, serious viruses to Alvil these files are undetected by Avast! during weeks :frowning:
whyle other AV-s do this in 2-3 days, even in the same day!
And one very importan thing, will be very good to make virus submition more simple than send password protected file to Alwil via E-Mail.

There is excellent example how to do this easily: http://analysis.avira.com/samples/index.php

Oh yes, they ALWAYS answers to E-Mail (Alwil never  ), good to know that somebody really care your activity ::slight_smile:

Sad but true.

I`ve made my suggestion here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=12640.msg232392#msg232392
Actually, submition and detection improvements are the most importants in my opinion. These are the avast handicaps for sure.
