Hmmm… It’s not a work for an antivirus. You can use Secunia PSI for that.

Do you mean reduce the protection while in battery? Why would you want that?

avast has SafeZone for complete protection while banking and you can sandbox your browser also.

Hmmm Maybe they change their mind. avast! was the first to have boot time scanning and probably it will continue this way.

Being there is not messing your things, is it? A lot of users want the things like they are now…

avast has it for years…

  2. the term anti-malware is also understood as antivirus. malware is all the bad stuff collectively (virus, worm, rootkit, spyware, keylogger, dialer, adware, etc)
  3. you can pause/stop a scan when battery is low. schedule scans can be configured to not occur when on battery mode (something like that)
  4. if Windows is not booting, press F8 to access recovery (at least in Windows 7 you do, for laptops from OEM like HP and Dell you can access recovery manager).
