Suggestion for Avast

Hi!

I would be mice if Avast had an option to automatically detect & delete certain filenames and or extentions. For example, Iā€™d like for it to do that with thumbs.db files

thumbs.db files are not malicious files in any way. avast! is an antivirus utility, not a file cleaner like ccleaner. So, I highly doubt this will ever be included in standard program features.

Windows XP, by default, shows the thumbnails view of certain folders. It seems to repeatedly recreate the THUMBS.DB files automatically. Follow this to stop this from happening, and you will never see those thumbs.db files again (of course you have to erase existing ones manually, which is very easy if you use some good file manager like Total Commander):

  1. In Explorer, go to Tools ā†’ Folder Options or open the Folder Options icon in the Control Panel.
  2. Choose the View tab, and turn off the Do not cache thumbnails option.
  3. Click Ok.

Got it, thanx
