SUPER, converts every video!

Hi video players,

What should one do with ftv-video, Flash video, and other video-standards, when one likes to convert the one to the other, avi, asf, mov, etc. etc. Just select the input files, check the output format, the program let you choose the settings. Universal, never been easier, download here:

Although it can recognize many formats, it has one very big downside. The codecs are build in, so if you use it you depend on the creaters to update the application. I would rather see a application that are using installed codecs so you can update them as soon as there is a updated version available.

Besides that, you will have all codecs double installed basicly. One time within this application and seperatly for other applications.

A alternative one may want to use is VirtualDub

And if you want to know what codec is used, give GSpot a try

Hi,

I’ve just been informed by my VPS Database (Version 000738-2) that my Version of Super (v2007 build 21) being infected by a trojan (Win32:Banload-BLH) in the smabwin.spk file. I use this Version of super for more than 4 months without any problems, and the only thing that has changed since then is the VPS Version (last night).

Looking for a solution I found 2 threads concerning my problem:

http://www.trojaner-board.de/38614-win32-banload-blh-trj.html

http://www.sur-la-toile.com/viewTopic_62363_5_Probleme-SUPER.html

Each of them suggests avast gave a false alarm. Would you please confirm this.

Meanwhile I have restored the file above from the Chess container and I’m not facing any problems.

Greetings.

Update: Meanwhile VPS 000738-3 has been installed on my PC. Maybe this will solve the problem.

I had the same problem as tollhans.
File still in Chest…is it a false positive?

To know if a file is a false positive, please submit it to JOTTI or VirusTotal and let us know the result. If it is indeed a false positive, send it in a password protected zip to virus@avast.com
Please, mention in the body of the message why you think it is a false positive and the password used. Thanks.

As a workaround, you can add these files to the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning) exclusion list.
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize. Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…
You can use wildcards like * and ?. But be carefull, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.
After that, please, periodically check it - scan it into Chest, right clicking the file - there should still be a copy in the chest even though you restored it to the original location. When it is no longer detected as being infected then you can also remove it from the Exclusion list.

This link is a tutorial on how to help correct a virus detection that you believe to be false:
