I’ve been using SAS Free since it began. A few days ago it upgraded itself to version 4.1 and a full scan came up with 629 items! Previous scans found only 1 or 2. Figuring that these these things could not have invaded my PC in the last week and wondering how they could all be FPs, I cancelled the repair and scanned with Spyware Terminator, 8 items found. then with Spyware Doctor (edit) 5.5, 2 items found.
So back to SAS, another scan, this time I quarantined all the ones ticked by SAS, restarted the PC. No problems yet.
Since then I’ve done the same thing on 6 PCs , similar result every time. Screenshot is typical.
Anyone else noticed this, and/or like to comment?
My scans have found mostly cookies, though perhaps in greater numbers than with S&D.
Ah! my error is apparent. By “SD” I meant Spyware Doctor not Search & Destroy.
Which point’s out the confusion when using abbreviations.
The poster always knows what his/her abbreviation stands for. Unfortunately,
the greater your imagination the greater the number of programs that the abbreviation can be confused for.
“When in doubt, write it out.”
That sounds bizzare, I read a similar thread , on the SAS forum.I f it were me I would post there, I would also restore all the items, then reinstall SAS, then see what it finds.
