I was thinking about upgrading my superantispyware to the pro version— does it work well with avast??
Yes, it works very well, I’m using SAS Pro and avast without problems.
Thanks i just did it, i am waiting for the new version of avast to see what they offer before upgrading that. I am interested in checking out their firewall.
Do you intend to let SAS as resident? If not, I think you can live with the free on-demand scanning only.
can you have sas running resident with avast?? I have the free avast until they go to a firewall i might upgrade it. I ws wondering if it will be ok to run sas pro as resident with avast free.
I doubt that the anti-spyware functionality in avast version 5 will essentially change, there hasn’t been any indication that it will. I have had the SAS Pro version for quite some time now and I dare say I will continue to do so in avast 5.
Bluesman has already said he is using it with avast without problem and so am I.
I have tested SAS Pro with Avast! as well, and no problems here either. But if you realy need it with Avast! is another question. Personaly I go with Tech and think the free on-demand version will do fine
Greetz, Red.
Another confirmation from me…Superantispyware pro and avast! home,“live” together in peace and harmony on my pc…(only at startup,it’s a minor delay, when they both scan, avast! for rootkits, and Superantispyware his stuff…but nothing to make a big deal for me…my machine can handle that, and so so I…)
It runs 8 minutes after boot… the delay should have concerned with any other drivers, services, etc. loading.
Just a curiosity, being honest, for the ones who has both as residents, does any time SuperAntispyware caught anything that avast missed?
Maybe it’s too soon to tell, after one month(i think yes,it is too soon ;D),but the answer is no…it seems that SAS doesn’t even find the ususal cookies since they are together(avast and SAS)
Thanks JoeBlack40, I’ll wait for the other users input too.
You’re welcome Tech.
