Well, I login to support.avast.com and then a blank page appears… What should I do?

Try to clear the cookies/cache in your browser.
Yes, I’ve tried, the page appears normally to me and when I log in it doesn’t appear anything…
It fails the same for me.
No problems here opening the page using SRWare Iron. ![]()
Using both IE7 and FF3 under Vista, I can get to support.avast.com. However as soon as I enter my login details, I am presented with a blank page.
Who owns this page and, what does it have to do with avast! ???
Little grumpy today. It was a typo. Your smart-alecky answer is not appreciated.
No problem here.
Click on Register.
No problem there either.
I just tried again.

Have you tried with a different browser, firefox or opera ?
If they don’t work it might be HOSTS file blocking, though that would be somewhat strange as it normally works at domain level and not sub domain level.
HOSTS file redirect a common malware tactic to block AV sites making it difficult to remove malware - 127.0.0.1 check your HOSTS file using notepad or a text editor of your choice, C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts or do a search for HOSTS to find it if not there. Once open you are looking for entries with avast.com on the line, you may well see other AV sites, post the contents of the hosts file. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file
Yes, it also happens with FF (as I reported above). I do not use the HOSTS file at all. Other than 127.0.0.1, there is no entry. If I do View Source, this is what is there:-
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>
I wasn’t too hopeful, as I say it is normally applied at domain level.
Most certainly a mystery.
You could try using the OpenDNS.com as your DNS server as there have in the past been some DNS server hacking/redirects, but again that I would have though would be at domain level also.
I just tried deleting the support.avast cookie. No difference.
WRT OpenDNS, I would not bother since support.avast.com is the only site that the anomaly occurs. Some days I can get to the site and other days, I cannot.
I just did two traceroutes. For www.avast.com (67.228.112.194), I am taken to the US west coast.
For support.avast.com (195.47.75.66), I am taken to the Czech Republic.
Since I use Visualroute, I can supply screenprints if required.
Not grumpy at all and sill would like to know what this has to do with supporting avast ???
When did you become a moderator?
There is even a pinned topic about support.avast.com in this forum. Talking about a subsite of avast.com is not permitted. Rubbish.
Quite some time ago, but not on this forum.
when you enter the url as:
http://supportavast.com/
What opens up is not at all related to avast. Which is why I asked my original question.
When entered as:
http://support.avast.com/
you get the following:

As you can see, I have no problem opening the avast! Support request site.
All we need to do is get you to also have no problems getting there.
