I was looking to replace symantec with avast, i know i need the adnm cause i have 400 workstations and it only works with 4.8. So my question how long is avast 4.8 going to be support and have updates?

support for ver. 4.8 and updates will continue until new version (SBC/ADNM/server) will be released + some time (don’t know how much) for fluent upgrading (we don’t expect that administrators will upgrade in one day ;-)).

indeed we wont be upgrading in one day… 
but we need to have a package first to test with, so… when are you releasing the name SBC??
Is there any update on the release of SBC? Our license is up for renewal later this year, and while I know we’ve been getting definition updates, I would like to see the platform upgraded. If it continues to appear ADNM/SBC gets left in the dust, it might be time to evaluate other options.
Same here i’m liking sophos endpoint and console…waiting on a quote from them. Avast is just to small time for networks. But i will continue to suggest them to home users.
stay away from avast for business… they dont focus on it… so its totaly a back seat system… last update over a year ago on the current 1… and not a peep from avast concerning it. avast for private use is rather good… just dont make the same mistake we did… and used it in corporate
avast 6 is almost ready to release and it will focus on the Administration Console (Business Protection).
Like you say, they’ve lost time… and customers…
